WILLIAM I. COHEN, MD DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD

Dr. William I. Cohen (1946-2009) was a Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician from the University of Pittsburgh who made monumental, multifaceted contributions to the care of people with Down syndrome through tireless work and his warm personality. We celebrate his contributions to the field of Down syndrome with this award and also recognize the dedication, commitment and contributions of others.

In 2016, the Board of Directors of DSMIG-USA established the William I. Cohen, MD Distinguished Service Award to honor a member for major contributions to the mission of DSMIG-USA by promoting the health and wellness of individuals with Down syndrome.
