2025 DSMIG-USA Annual Symposium

Save the date! The 2025 DSMIG-USA Annual Symposium provides an interdisciplinary forum for sharing of knowledge and experiences related to the clinical care of individuals with Down syndrome across the lifespan, clinical research related to Down syndrome, and the development of Down syndrome clinics. Next year's symposium will be held July 24-26, 2024 in Dallas, Texas. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with fellow Down syndrome experts from around the world to share ideas, ask questions, participate in meaningful discussions and network. 2025 Call for Abstracts & Speakers

The Annual Symposium Committee of the Down Syndrome Medical Interest Group- USA is currently accepting abstracts to present at our next Annual Symposium at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas from July 24-26, 2025. The Call for Sessions submission deadline is November 18. We are looking for evidence-based presentations that are interactive in nature. All submissions are welcome, but suggested speaker topics include Mental health, respiratory issues, emergency preparedness, strategies for sever hearing and vision defects, Corneal cross linking for keratoconus and corneal disease across the lifespan or a new angle on a common problem. 

CALL FOR ABSTRACT/SPEAKERS FORM

Proposals will be scored/chosen according to the degree to which: 

  • The submitted proposal is thoughtfully and thoroughly completed.
  • The presentation is relevant and timely.
  • Speaker demonstrates relevant experience and expertise.
  • Presentation will provide new and valuable information.
  • Presentation does not focus on a particular product or service. 
  • Multi-speaker sessions include a variety of experts and/or stakeholders. 

Presenters Agree to: 

  • Presenters participate as volunteers and as such are not compensated for their participation in DSMIG-USA events. 
  • Presenters are expected to meet all deadlines for submission of materials and information related to their sessions, as outlines in the presenter packet. 
  • Presenters are expected to use people first language. 
  • Presenters are expected to make their presentations interactive. 
  • Presenters are expected to share key takeaway points/messages within the content of their presentation or at the end. 
  • DSMIG-USA may audio or video record sessions or take photographs during the event. Presenters agree to have their likeness included in DSMIG-USA media for promotional uses after the event.
